The "Puzzles with Flair" idea was one I got after talking to repeat customers at art fairs. About half of those who buy my puzzles, never take them apart but love to display them and show them off, so I thought, "why not add a little something", and being a kid from the 80's, "flair" felt like the perfect name for this new addition. Please choose a puzzle from the drop down menu above to see a picture, and if you'd like to request a special year for a puzzle with multiple years available, just let me know in the provided box. Due to the variety available for this, click on each selection to view price, it will self adjust. I'm adding more as I have time, but if you have a request for something you don't see, message me; I love having a reason to make something new.
The very time consuming puzzle making process includes hand-cutting one piece at a time, cleaning fine dust and wax off each piece with a brush and Q-tip, then reassembling with the help of tweezers. I originally sold them loose in a box, but shoppers thought it unbelievable that it would go back together or look like the coin from which it was made, so I almost scrapped the idea. I assembled the lose puzzles and displayed them just like collectible coins, and interest in my new idea accelerated fast. I now sell them assembled in 2"x 2" plastic coin snaps. You can leave it in the case or take it apart, just make sure to have tweezers, patience and aspirin available when putting it back together. You can visit my Birth of the Numismatic Jigsaw Puzzle page for the complete story behind my original jigsaw puzzles.
